Annual Oktoberfest Dinner and Celebration

Oktoberfest is here again! A fun-filled evening of food, fellowship, music, and information. Expect bratwurst, sauerkraut, and potato salad ... pretzels ... apple strudel for dessert ... craft beer supplied by Mastry’s Brewing Co. ... iced tea and apple cider. You might want to study up on church history, as this year’s quiz (with prizes) will concern our fast-approaching 130th year as a worshiping community and our 50th anniversary as a Cathedral.

It’s also the start of our annual pledge campaign. “Each fall we invite you to consider your financial commitment to the Cathedral and make a pledge for the upcoming year,” said stewardship chair Ray McColgan. “You’ll be hearing more about this in October, as members of our community talk about what St. Peter’s means to them,” Ray said. “At Oktoberfest we celebrate the fellowship of our faith community, we enjoy food and fun together, we acknowledge our ministries and committees, we celebrate the bountiful stewardship (time and talent as well as treasure) of the past year and look forward to an even more bountiful future.” A PowerPoint will celebrate all our ministries, and we’ll announce the total of talents contributed to the piggy bank.

There’s no charge for Oktoberfest, but we need an accurate head count so we have enough food and drink for all. Child care will be provided for children up to age 11. When you register, please indicate whether you require child care, for how many children, and their ages. Since alcoholic beverages are being served, this event is open only to those 21 and older.
