Marco Jimenez Organ Recital

Organist and composer Marco Jimenez, a pupil of music director Dwight Thomas, will present a free recital at the Cathedral. He will play works of J.S. Bach, Vierne, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Ravel, and his own compositions. A reception follows.

Marco, 16, plays piano, organ, and violin. The winner of the 2019 Justine LeBaron Young Artists Competition, named for the former principal horn player of the Florida Orchestra, he will play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major with the orchestra in 2020. He is also principal second violin for the Sarasota Youth Philharmonic. This summer Marco will attend the Boston University Tanglewood Institute for young musicians in the Berkshires of Massachusetts and the 2019 Southeastern Piano Festival.
